Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.
Session vs. Persistent Cookies
- Session cookies are temporary. They exist only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close it. We use these for things like keeping items in your shopping cart as you browse.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period of time (or until you delete them manually). We use these to remember your preferences between visits.
First-Party vs. Third-Party Cookies
- First-party cookies are set by us (vividhome.eu) and can only be read by our Website.
- Third-party cookies are set by other services we use (such as Stripe, our payment provider) and can be read by those services across different websites.
2. How We Use Cookies
We group the cookies used on vividhome.eu into the four categories below; the last part of this section lists similar browser storage. When you first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept all cookies or keep only the necessary ones. Please note that the analytics and advertising cookies listed below are currently set on your first page view, before you make that choice.
a) Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Website to operate. They cannot be disabled. Without them, core features like the shopping cart and checkout would not work.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
woocommerce_cart_hash |
Stores a hash of your cart contents to ensure cart data is up to date | Session |
woocommerce_items_in_cart |
Records whether the cart contains items, triggering cart-related functionality | Session |
wp_woocommerce_session_* |
Maintains your unique session ID for the shopping cart | 2 days (7 days when you are signed in) |
wordpress_logged_in_* |
Authenticates logged-in users and grants access to account pages | Session / 14 days (if “Remember me”) |
wordpress_sec_* |
Security cookie used to store authentication details securely | Session / 14 days (if “Remember me”) |
__stripe_mid |
Stripe: fraud prevention for card and wallet payments. Set when Stripe’s payment script loads on a product page, the cart or the checkout | 1 year |
__stripe_sid |
Stripe: fraud prevention for the current browsing session | 30 minutes |
m (m.stripe.com) |
Stripe: device check for fraud prevention, set on Stripe’s own domain | 2 years |
hmt_id (hcaptcha.com) |
hCaptcha, loaded by Stripe: bot check during payment, set on hCaptcha’s own domain | 30 days |
__cf_bm, __cflb (hcaptcha.com) |
Cloudflare, on hCaptcha’s domain: bot protection and load balancing for that bot check | 30 minutes |
b) Functional Cookies
These cookies remember your choices and preferences to provide a more personalised experience. Disabling them means we won’t be able to remember your settings between visits.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
vh_langpop_dismissed |
Remembers that you closed the language suggestion, so it is not shown again during this visit | Until you close the browser |
vh_pending_coupon |
Holds the discount code you claimed in our promotion popup or received through a campaign link, so it is applied when you add a product to the cart | Until the offer ends (30 days for a campaign link) |
c) Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our Website: which pages are popular, how people move through the site and where visitors come from. Google Analytics and Hotjar currently set their cookies on your first page view, before you choose anything in the cookie banner. Hotjar records how pages are used - clicks, scrolling, mouse movement and screen size - and can replay a visit as a recording. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. The WooCommerce order attribution cookies are set on your first page view and last only for that visit.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics: distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated ID | 2 years |
_ga_F62J4WZCCV |
Google Analytics: keeps the state of your current visit | 2 years |
_hjSessionUser_6777543 |
Hotjar: recognises your browser across visits, so repeat visits are counted once | 365 days |
_hjSession_6777543 |
Hotjar: keeps the state of your current visit and whether it is being recorded | 30 minutes |
sbjs_current, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_first, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_udata, sbjs_migrations |
WooCommerce order attribution: the source, medium and campaign of your first and current visit, the landing page and referring site, your browser type and the number of visits. Stored with your order if you place one | Until you close the browser |
sbjs_session |
WooCommerce order attribution: counts the pages you view during the current visit | 30 minutes |
d) Marketing Cookies
These cookies measure advertising and affiliate campaigns. The Google Ads cookies are currently set on your first page view, before you choose anything in the cookie banner; the Meta Pixel cookies are set only while the Meta Pixel is switched on. The last four cookies in the table are set by vividhome.eu when you arrive through an ad, affiliate or campaign link, or from another website. They contain only the campaign details and click identifiers of that visit, are read only by vividhome.eu and are used to link an order to the campaign that led to it.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_fbp |
Facebook Pixel: identifies your browser for ad targeting and conversion tracking on Facebook/Instagram | 90 days |
_fbc |
Meta Pixel: stores the Facebook ad click identifier when you arrive from a Meta ad | 90 days |
_gcl_au |
Google Ads: stores conversion data to measure ad campaign effectiveness | 90 days |
vh_ads |
Stores the Google or Meta ad click identifier from the link you arrived through, so an order can be matched to that ad | 90 days |
vh_aff |
Stores the affiliate network and its click identifier when you arrive through a partner link, so the partner can be credited for an order | 30 days (up to 395 days, depending on the affiliate network) |
vh_touch |
Records up to 12 campaigns or websites that brought you to us (source, medium, campaign, referring site and landing page). Stored with your order if you place one | 90 days |
vh_sid |
A random identifier that links those visits to one browser. It contains no personal details | 90 days |
test_cookie (doubleclick.net) |
Google, on doubleclick.net: checks whether your browser accepts cookies at all | Until you close the tab |
Keeping only the necessary cookies in the cookie banner tells Google not to use your data for advertising, but it does not currently stop the Google Analytics, Google Ads and Hotjar cookies from being set. To prevent them, block cookies for vividhome.eu in your browser settings or use your browser’s tracking protection.
e) Similar Technologies (Browser Storage)
Some features keep small pieces of data in your browser’s local storage or session storage instead of cookies. This data stays in your browser and is not sent to our server with every request. Local storage remains until you clear your browser data; session storage is deleted when you close the tab.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
vh_consent, vhCookieAccepted |
Your cookie choice, so the banner is not shown again | Until you clear your browser data |
vividhome_recent_v2 |
Products you viewed recently, so product pages can show them again | Until you clear your browser data |
vhLangPopupGeo |
Your country as detected for the language suggestion (country code only) | 24 hours |
vhPromoClaim, vhPromoDismiss, vhNewsletterSubscribed |
Whether you claimed a discount code, closed the promotion popup or subscribed to the newsletter, so the popups do not ask again | Until you clear your browser data |
storeApiNonce, storeApiCartHash, storeApiCartData, wc-blocks_dismissed_incompatible_extensions_notices |
WooCommerce: keeps the cart and checkout pages in step with your cart | Until you clear your browser data |
vhPromo:*, vhPromoShown, vividhome_exit_shown, vividhome_cart_exit_shown |
Session storage: today’s promotion for your country and whether a popup has already been shown during this visit | Until you close the tab |
vhc2:delivery:v2, vhc2:note |
Session storage: the delivery details and order note you typed at checkout, so they are kept if the page reloads | Until you close the tab |
wpEmojiSettingsSupports |
Session storage: WordPress checks whether your browser can display emoji | Until you close the tab |
hjActiveViewportIds, hjViewportId |
Hotjar: the screen sizes seen during your visit, used to match a recording to the layout you saw | Until you clear your browser data |
Stripe and Cloudflare Turnstile also keep their own browser storage inside their payment and security frames (for example cf.turnstile.u).
3. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Our Cookie Banner
When you first visit vividhome.eu, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies or keep only the necessary ones. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, so you are not asked again on that device.
To change your choice, delete the stored data for vividhome.eu in your browser settings (see below). The cookie banner then appears again on your next page view.
Browser-Level Controls
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Here’s how for the most common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and Other Site Data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions → Cookies and Site Data
Please note: If you disable strictly necessary cookies through your browser, some parts of the Website may not function correctly. For example, the shopping cart and checkout process require cookies to work.
Opting Out of Analytics
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
